1. Gigi B. Hollow Tree Candle Travel size $24, Ceramic Candle $50

Handcrafted in Whistler, Hollow Tree Candles are inspired by the forests and landmarks surrounding the Lower Mainland and Whistler. These long-lasting, clean-burning coconut wax candles have a slow, even burn. Popular scents include Hollow Tree (Stanley Park), The Lions, Cathedral Grove, and Shannon Falls.

 

2. Kingsmill Studio Pottery Tessaramics Bubble Cat Soup Mug $48

This Bubble Cat Soup Mug, made by Tessaramics, is wheel-thrown from mid-fire speckled stoneware. Cats are applied using custom silkscreen stencils, so no two mugs are exactly alike. All pieces are glazed with a strong, food-safe glaze and the base is lightly sanded to be smooth. The design features five cats around the mug. Find Tessaramics in the Kingsmill Studio Pottery Shop, a collective of six local potters established in 1979 with an ever-evolving selection of functional and sculptural pieces.

Handcrafted in Vancouver, each Poplar Studio Puffin Mug is unique and functional. Find Poplar Studio in the Kingsmill Studio Pottery Shop, part of the Kingsmill collective of six local potters.

Lynn Falconer crafts exquisite bronze sculptures in a range of sizes along with wax pieces. Her collection includes sculptural door knockers priced between $350 and $450, wall hooks at $150, and wax works at $100. You can find her studio and more of her creations at 1350 Railspur Alley.

Holiday Festivities

From theatre classics to improv comedy, Festive Lights, and seasonal celebrations, Granville Island is filled with holiday moments to share with friends and family all month long.

1. Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women by Lauren M. Gunderson playing at the Granville Island Stage November 27, 2025 to January 4, 2026 Tickets from $29

The Improv Centre invites you to join our live studio audience for a fully improvised holiday episode of a sitcom! This hilarious show is formed by audience suggestions and explores a group of friends living in the big city navigating festive dilemmas – complete with commercial breaks, seasonal TV moments, and plenty of laughter! Each performance creates a brand-new sitcom on the spot, giving audiences the feeling of watching a totally new holiday special unfold live on stage. 3. Granville Island Festive Lights and Holiday Display FREE Island Wide December 1–31

Stroll the Island under twinkling lights, glowing installations, and cheerful seasonal displays that make every visit feel special.

 

4. Winter Solstice Festival by The Secret Lantern Society FREE Various Locations December 21

Celebrate the longest night of the year with lanterns, music, and community gatherings hosted by the Secret Lantern Society.
