One of the most scenic ways to get to Granville Island is by ferry. Ferries run year-round, with more frequent service during spring and summer.

Getting to Granville Island by bus is easy, with convenient service from downtown Vancouver and nearby neighbourhoods.

Scooters are a fast and convenient way to get to the Island, especially from downtown, Olympic Village, and nearby False Creek neighbourhoods.

Ferry Operators

  • Aquabustravels around False Creek with stops at Hornby St., Stamp’s Landing, Yaletown, and Science World. The Aquabus dock on Granville Island is located between the Public Market and the Arts Club Theatre.
  • False Creek Ferries: travels around the Inlet with stops at the Maritime Museum, the Aquatic Centre, Stamps Landing, and Science World. The False Creek Ferry dock on Granville Island is located near the entrance to Bridges Restaurant.

#50 False Creek Bus

The #50 False Creek bus provides direct service to Granville Island from Gastown and downtown Vancouver. The route stops at the Granville Island entrance at the intersection of Anderson Street and West 2nd Avenue, right in front of the famous Granville Island red neon sign. From there, it’s a short walk onto the Island.

Parking Scooters on Granville Island

Our free Granville Island Bike Valet offers secure, attended parking for scooters, bikes, e-bikes, bike trailers, and strollers.

Outside of Bike Valet hours, scooters can be parked at additional designated bike racks located throughout the Island.

  • Bike Racks are located throughout Granville Island for convenient self-parking. Be sure to use a sturdy lock to secure your bike.

  • Bring your bike aboard the Aquabus! More than half of their fleet is bike-friendly, allowing cyclists to travel across False Creek with their bikes onboard for a small additional fee.

⚓ Boat Parking

If you’ve got your own water-based transportation, there is a free Public Market Dock behind the Public Market that allows three-hour moorage. Space is limited and available on a first come, first served basis. You must register your boat on arrival at 604-315-3003.

Other Nearby Bus Routes

The Granville Street & West 5th Avenue stop, located at the south end of the Granville Bridge, connects to several Vancouver and regional bus routes.

From there, Granville Island is approximately a 5-to-10-minute walk north under the bridge. Look for signs for the Granville Street Pedestrian Underpass and follow the path through the underpass to get to the Island.
