DESCRIPTION:Fredi Rahn has been playing with clay since her mom signed her up for a community class in the third grade\, and is still excited about the territory left to explore. A love of cooking and the social gatherings surrounding food are at the heart of why she makes tableware – to connect intimately\, through touch and use\, to her audience. Maria works with her husband to create one-of-a-kind handknit wearables using the most sustainable natural fibres available: organic cottons\, bamboo and wool in an 80/20% blend\, and bulky merino wool\, alpaca and silk blends chosen for sustainability as well as quality\, price\, and colour. Special designs are often hand embroidered onto the hats to give them that extra special touch of whimsy. Since a young child Maria has designed and sewn her own dolls and now together with her husband continues to create collectible bears with hand stitched faces.
