Coming soon to the Chain & Forge Market District Building
The development of this significantly historic building, previously a chain forging factory, is the first major development on Granville Island. The opening will fulfill the long-held plans to grow the Public Market district, its restaurant and food businesses, and increase the late-night offerings on the “Island”. When open in mid 2026, the building will be home to seven new restaurants, bars, cafes, and patios, some open as late as 1 AM.
First up is Burdy! This is Natalie Carmichaels’, a young local chef and businesswoman, first bricks and mortar location. She sold her much loved solar-powered yellow bus food truck in order to bring her selection of drool-worthy sandwiches to Granville Island, including the fan favourite, Chicken Parm Sandwich. :ppl for their open this summer.
