In the Key of Soul – Workshop

This 2-hour creative workshop is designed to help participants tap into the body as an instrument and source of wisdom, laying the foundation for authentic collaboration. We begin with grounding practices: breathwork and gentle movement to awaken embodied awareness. Participants will engage in collective sharing, visioning and the creation of poetry and sound. Participants will be divided into small groups experiencing breakout sessions with each lead artist. These breakout sessions will explore different creative approaches to begin weaving diverse expressions together— voices, movement and sound—into collaborative pieces. Participants will then be invited to debut these new in-process works at the evening show!

This workshop is geared towards Poets and Storytellers, Vocalists, Musicians, Movement Artists, Queer creatives looking to explore the collective collaboration, anyone interested in deepening their community based arts practice, those interested in collective, communal performance, anyone looking for and open to new collaborators and collaborations, and those deeply interested in and invested in process over product. This workshop isn’t for you if you are solely interested in individual performance and/or looking for a traditional open mic opportunity.

A maximum of 20 participants can register for this workshop
